The FDA is warning that people should not purchase or use products marketed and sold as "dietary supplements" for enhancing sexual performance and treating erectile dysfunction. The products include Zimaxx, Libidus, Neophase, Nasutra, Vigor-25, Actra-Rx and 4EVERON. The FDA classifies these products are illegal drugs. The products contain undeclared ingredients that may be harmful to consumers. The marketing for these products claim that they are "all natural." However, these products contain chemical ingredients which are the same as, or similar to, the active ingredients in the prescription drugs Viagra and Levitra. Viagra and Levitra are FDA approved to treat erectile dysfunction. Since the supplements do not declare these chemical ingredients, unknowing consumers are risking dangerous drops in blood pressure and potentially serious drug interactions with prescription medications that they are using. Also, the manufacturing of these supplements is not regulated, and therefore, the ingredients may not be safe, effective or pure.
